Wall Gallery PC — Getting started

This free companion lets you view PC photos and videos on Quest without manually copying them.
Tested on 64-bit Windows 11. This is not a Mac application.

1. Extract the entire ZIP into a folder you can write to. Do not run it inside the ZIP.
2. Open WallGalleryPC.exe.
3. Connect your PC and Quest to the same trusted home network.
4. Choose only the folder you want to share, then select Start sharing.
Its subfolders will also be accessible from Quest.
5. Open the PC connection screen in Wall Gallery on Quest and select your PC.
Compare the PC security codes on both screens, then enter the six-digit connection code.
Do not connect if the security codes differ. Connection codes expire after ten minutes.
6. Select a folder on Quest. Keep the PC and companion running while viewing.
To finish, select Stop sharing or close the companion.

Connection troubleshooting
Check that both devices are on the same network and sharing is active.
If Windows Firewall asks, allow access only on your trusted private home network.
Do not disable the firewall. Guest Wi-Fi may block communication between devices.
If discovery fails, enter the address shown by the PC companion in Quest's connection screen.
Use New connection code if it has expired. A sleeping PC cannot serve media.

Optional features
Basic image viewing requires no additional downloads.
Use Add video conversion or Add AI upscaling in the companion.
After you confirm, the app downloads, verifies and installs the required files.
No terminal or PowerShell commands are needed. You can cancel during setup.
Active sharing pauses and resumes afterwards. No restart is required.
After adding AI, choose Photos or Illustrations to enable it.
If setup fails, check the connection, free disk space and folder write permissions, then retry.
You can keep using basic viewing without these extras.
AI is experimental; speed and quality vary. Not every video format or codec is supported.

Settings, updates and removal
Original files are read-only. PC–Quest media traffic is encrypted.
settings.json stores the shared root, connection settings, language and preferences.
The app does not save per-file viewing history. Do not share settings.json with others.
This does not disable Windows' own history or thumbnail storage.
To update, close the app and replace distribution files; retain settings.json and Dependencies.
To remove, close the app and delete its extracted folder. Originals elsewhere are unaffected.
